Breakfast Energy Balls

These breakfast energy balls are another great option for when you don’t have much time in the morning and want something quick and healthy to eat. I like making them all the time as they are really delicious and leave me bursting with energy. And They also serve as a great pre-workout meal as well.

Makes: around 15 balls
Preparation time: 15 minutes


  • 1 cup dates
  • 1 cup almonds
  • ½ cup oats
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp chia seeds


  1. Place dates in food processor with an S blade and pulse until form a paste like consistency.
  2. Add almonds, oats, chia seeds and vanilla essence, and pulse until it forms sticky dough.
  3. If the dough doesn’t stick together add a little bit of water and pulse again until the dough becomes stickier.
  4. Roll out 15 medium sized balls and store in an airtight food container.
